MOUNTAINS - REMOTE - PRIMITIVE

This short loop probably has the most unique and deserted roads of the Scenic City Backroads Loops. The Daus Mountain Road is quite remote with rougher pavement, climbing a mountain with heavy woods on both sides. If you are not intimidated, but rather enjoy being in remote areas- and you have no problem with a road that is a little narrow with somewhat rough pavement - then this would be a good loop for you! Along the way there are interesting places to stop, or you can finish your day at The Coker Museum.

LOOP TYPE: Varies from narrow mountain roads to nice, state highways

DURATION: 3 hours / 110 miles

ZONE: Northwest (see route aerial view)
